My First Pair of Baby Socks… January 21, 2013

…and they only took me 6 years to knit!

Yes, it is true. I am a project starter, not a project finisher. I get inspired to knit this and that, and then life happens, and then years pass with projects still on their needles. But today I finally finished a project! A leisurely lunch-and-knitting session today with one of my best friends, DM, gave me both the time and expertise (courtesy of DM, not me) to finish the second of the two socks. The first one I knit in a sock class way back when, and since that time, it’s sadly been all alone in the world.

I decided to knit the baby sock today (rather than finish my Christmas stockings that were supposed to be finished about a month ago…you know, in time for Christmas) because later this spring I will be an aunt four times over. My older brother and his wife will be having their first child in just a few short months. I am quickly collecting a parcel of nieces and nephews, none of which received any knitted baby booties made by me. I want to change that. So nephew #2, watch out. Baby booties will be coming your way.
